If you are British and living here in the Costa Blanca you will have heard some horrific stories, some true, most exaggerated!

In fairness to the Spanish most of the confusion and fear exist due to a lack of effective communication; the medical care you receive in Spain is as good as, if not better than that which you would receive in England. The nursing care is where a lot of the problems lay, not because the care is inefficient, but because the systems and culture differences are very noticeable.

In Spain it is usually families that provide the basic needs, washing, assistance with toileting, help with eating etc, and although there are teams of auxiliary nurses that help those without families, the care is not given on a demand basis, as it is in England.

 

At Prestige we offer a service to suite individual needs, we can provide 1 to 24 hours care within the hospital, to ensure you or your loved one, gets the attention you/they deserve. Prestige can assist with basic care needs, speak and translate with the nurses and medical staff, inform you step by step what the next process/procedures are.
