Frequently-Asked-Questions
Q Is Home care expensive?
A As with all professional, bespoke, one on one services it is not cheap, but we are fully aware that the largest users of our services are pensioners, so with this in mind our prices start from 13.50€.
Prestige will undertake an assessment of needs, discuss with you the prices involved and leave you with all the information, so that you can make a decision in your own time. As a company we are dedicated to helping you access social services, care allowances and we give un-bias, comprehensive information on all services types, so that you can make the correct choice for your care needs. We are happy to work along side state run services, so that complete and comprehensive packages of care can be organized with the minimum of personal cost.

Q How do we pay?
A
Most people pay by cash or cheque once they have received a factura (invoice) or alternatively it can be paid straight into the bank transfer or direct debit, if paying from England you may, dependent on your bank need to set up a SWIFT transfer.

Fracturas are normally issued monthly, if only short term care provision is required then we organize weekly payments. The only time an initial payment is required is when payments are received being from England.

Q Are the nurses actually nurses?
A
YES, we have many different job titles, levels of education and experience, but with Prestige Nurse means Nurse. This person will hold nursing certificates and in the case of Qualified nurses, be registered with the governing body of their country of training and registered here in Spain.

Q  How will I know that the person calling is actually from the company?
A All staff wear uniforms and photo identification, usually the assessing nurse will introduce you to your nursing team, before starting work but occasionally due to sickness or emergencies this is not always possible.

The office however always endeavours to telephone when there is a change of plan, to apologise and to give you the name of the new proposed worker, if unsure do not allow them to enter, ask the worker to pass you their identification and telephone the office for confirmation. No member of genuine staff will be offended at this.

Q  My Parents need help but will not listen to me, what can I do?
A It sounds rather harsh but unfortunately very little, we suggest that maybe if you reword what you are saying, so that you’re suggesting rather than telling, at the end of the day in their eyes you’re the child. One very effective way we have found with the elderly when suggesting that they have help, is to ensure they understand it is not because they are not capable but because it saves energy for the fun things in life.

If you manage to get them to agree to domiciliary care but feel that actually they are in need of nursing care, contact us. Very often this situation arises and we deal with it by sending  a nurse to undertake domiciliary care, Prestige nursing staff are highly skilled at making pro-active suggestions without compromising the person’s independence and or pride.
